Green Smoothie Breakfast – A Recipe for Health!

Still digesting leftovers from Thanksgiving? Are you thinking about just giving up and wearing nothing but stretchy pants and baggy shirts until after the holidays? How about trying this simple tip instead?

Green Smoothie Breakfast Recipe

For an energizing and healthy start to your day (or for any meal for that matter) try this basic green smoothie recipe. Once you get the idea you can improvise on this simple approach in any direction your heart desires.

  • 3 leaves of fresh kale
  • Handful of blueberries
  • 1/2 to 1 whole banana
  • 1″ of ginger root
  • 1/2″ turmeric root
  • Coconut water or water (or both!)
  • Protein powder (hemp seed is a great alternative to this as well), avoid whey and designer powders… I suggest a simple pea protein powder
  • 1/2 avocado
  • Pinch of high quality sea salt

I recommend blending with a Vitamix in order to make sure those roots are completely blended in. Feel free to vary the amounts of everything above, and/or add your favorite superfoods (cacao powder, maca powder, lucuma powder and so on).
